My Actifit Report Card: January 4 2022
Hey everybody and thanks for stopping by!
Today’s the first day I’ve worked this year! This first picture is of my favorite African violet which has 5 blooms-the most it’s ever had! It likes my workplace apparently. 😁
Normally I wouldn’t work but my coworker is sick and that leaves me to take her day. The price of working at a small office but it’s worth it.
I got a lot done and we are 2/3’s booked for tomorrow. Unfortunately as I was heading home, the snow was beginning to accumulate again. I thought they said the storm warning was for tomorrow? 🙄
As I drove, at the appropriate place, I shifted into 4WD. I made it home and made coffees.
This next picture is of Cot from last night. Pay close attention to his eyes. Lights on but nobody is home!

Love your african violet. My Grandmother use to always have several with some other plants on a cart under her dining room window. They always did so well for her. Many years ago I tried one or two, but I didn't do something right, because they didn't thrive. I've thought about it a time or two, maybe trying again.
Try it! I have had failures before, but the best advice I can give is keep it near natural light or a full spectrum grow light! It's amazing! I used to 'kill' them at home, which is why I took the ones I had to work. But, I got a tabletop greenhouse and purchased a full spectrum LED grow light, and my one here is doing fantastic and is blooming as I type! I've never been able to grow them here. Amiga creo que no soportaría tanto frío. Aquí en Venezuela hace mucho frío estos primeros días del año y como vivo en una zona montañosa paso todo el día abrigada. 🥶🥶 pero imagino que debes estar acostumbrada 🙂

I'm not sure you every really get used to cold; maybe to a point but when it takes your breath away when you walk outside, or it feels like it cuts right through you, you never really adjust! It is a bit warmer lately; staying in the upper teens to the mid 20's! I used to think that was cold, lol!
I will say, when we lived in Colorado up in the high country, we did experience -34 degrees Fahrenheit. At that point, you stop noticing!

Thanks @practicaleric! It does like my workplace for sure! Plus, purple is my favorite color and it's such a rich, deep shade of it!
More snow forecasted for tonight; an additional 2-6" of the white stuff, so tomorrow could get interesting.....

@elizabethbit I hope the snow stops before it becomes a problem! Makes for a bad start to the day having to drive in that crap, even though I know you have the 4WD and the experience to handle it. Just unnecessary stress to deal with!

Hey @blueeyes8960! Thanks! Yes, Cot is one spoiled boy! As for the snow......no work for me today, lol! Late in the afternoon, we did manage to crawl down from the mountain and get the studded tires on my car which turns it into a tank! They were already on rims, just needed switching, and normally we would have done it, but I didn't think it was safe to jack a car up on the snow!
