You may not remember
But I will
Yes I will
The hard years
That brewed
Milk and honey
From tears
Like alchemy
Slayed the old me
It was
Wasn’t it?
Necessary
You will not remember
But I will
And I will
Treasure the memory
With everything
Within me

Parenthood changes you, ideally for the better. I've seen people rise to the challenge and accomplish things they never would have dreamed of for themselves because they wanted a better future for their child(ren). Nobody's perfect and while the hard times are hard, they're part of the process and the process is awe-inspiring.
