"The Champions" - A Story in 50 Words

They walked in with their heads high, confidence on their shiny little faces not knowing that were about to be slaughtered. Not literally, of course! But she had trained her debate team to be ruthless. They could argue up was really down and make you doubt gravity. They were champions.

Look at that, a 50 word story! I started to get used to the 100-word format but it's nice to go back once in a while and see what I can pack into such a tiny word limit. Some may say they're more like vignettes than full length stories but I can live with that. They paint a picture, if only for a moment.
