Hallo Freunde,

die Straße ist fertig repariert.
Und sie wurde in typische karibischer Ausfertigung gemacht.

Zuerst werden die tiefen Löcher mit Dreck, einem Gemisch von Sand und Korallen gefüllt und das Ganze wurde festgeklopft.
Das führt zwar bei Regen zu Matsch, aber was solls.

Dann wird der Asphalt per Hand draufgekippt und mit einer Harke nivelliert. Sehr akkurat.
Und dann ganze wird dann wieder festgeklopft.

Ich wage eine Prognose. Beim nächsten Regen dringt das Wasser durch diese sehr dünne und nicht stark verdichtete Asphaltschicht und macht den Dreck zu Matsch, der sich dann unter der Asphaltschicht ausbreitet, wenn die schweren Autos drüberfahren.
Und es gibt die nächsten Löcher sehr schnell.
Aber gut sieht es erstmal aus, oder?

Hello friends,

the road repair is finished.
And it was made in typical Caribbean finish.

First the deep holes are filled with dirt, a mixture of sand and coral and the whole thing was tamped down.
This leads to mud when it rains, but what the heck.

Then the asphalt is dumped on it by hand and leveled with a rake. Very accurate.
And then the whole thing is tamped down again.

I dare to make a prediction. The next time it rains, the water will penetrate through this very thin and not very compacted asphalt layer and turn the dirt into mud, which will then spread under the asphalt layer when the heavy cars drive over it.
And there are the next holes very quickly.
But it looks good for now, right?
