11100 steps and a rainy trip to the waterfront

Hello friends.

Despite rain showers, the beach was full of locals as usual on the weekend. But they can not help it. Most of them come by bus or own 'vehicle from the inland provincial capital Santiago and there it usually does not rain, because a few mountains lie in between.
But since it immediately has 30 degrees when the sun shines again and the water has 30 degrees anyway it is not so bad.
By the way, it's interesting to see how Asia is advancing even here in the backyard of the USA.
Most of the older buses are these typical school buses from the US, but really all the newer models are either from Toyota or Hyundai.
It's the same with sedans. The mid-size model at all including cabs is provided by Hyundai or Honda, then come a Toyota pickups. The American pickups are mostly driven by expats, just like the very few European models.So Asia is winning even in the immediate neighborhood of the States.

Trotz Regenschauer war der Strand wie immer am Wochenende voll von Einheimischen. Aber die können auch gar nicht anders. Die meisten davon kommen per Bus oder eigenem ´Fahrzeug aus der im Inland liegenden Provinzhauptstadt Santiago und da regnet es meist nicht, weil ein paar Berge dazwischen liegen.
Aber da es sofort 30 Grad hat, wenn die Sonne wieder scheint und das Wasser sowieso 30 Grad hat ist es ja auch nicht so schlimm.
Übrigens, es ist interessant zu sehen, wie Asien auch hier im Hinterhof der USA vordringt.
Die meisten älteren Busse sind diese typischen Schulbusse aus den USA , aber wirklich alle neueren Modelle sind entweder von Toyota oder Hyundai.
Bei den Limousinen sieht es genauso aus. Das Mittelklassemodell überhaupt einschließlich Taxis wird von Hyundai oder Honda gestellt, dann kommen ein Toyotapickups. Die amerikanischen Pickups werden meist von Expats gefahren, genau wie die ganz wenigen europäischen Modelle. Asien gewinnt also sogar in der direkten Nachbarschaft der Staaten.
