My Actifit RC: Dec 1st 22 - I Am Alive Challenge Naples's city tour - IAAC #218

A dear greeting to all lovers of physical activities that populate the mythical community of Actifit.

Today was a spectacular sunny day with a clear sky reminiscent of the summer that ended a few weeks ago (Lol).

I immediately found myself celebrating my iamalivechallenge 218 in the sun here in line at the neighborhood post office.

After passing the bank I took the first bus that arrived in the direction of Naples.

And here I am on the lower decumanus in this picturesque tourist alley concentrated of artistic works of great value.

Having come to the mythical square of Jesus of which I have spoken so much, I decided to take a trip to the gigantic basilica of Santa Chiara.

This wonderful architectural work, built by the enlightened French dynasty of Anjou is a real monument to the horrors that war can bring to civilization and the damage it inflicts on humanity.

This church in Gothic style is bare inside with an austere style not found in other Neapolitan churches.

In fact it was totally destroyed during the Second World War because the Nazi troops had locked themselves in the city of Naples occupying it and committing heinous crimes together with the fascist troops also an incredible shame for our nation. A real disgrace in our bright history.

The loss of the wonderful monument frescoed by the skilled hands of the best Renaissance artists including the great master Giotto sparked great indignation in the world but gave a turning point by resurrecting the rebellious spirit of the Neapolitan population.

Two months later, the Neapolitans unleashed the four-day insurrection and drove the Germans out of the city on their own, and for the first time a European city freed itself from the yoke of Nazism.

Of the church remains only this and little other but and well reconstructed in record time in 1953.

After leaving the historic church I walk all the way to Piazza Nicola Amore and I notice that today the Moon lights alive the path of my actifity.

Back home, I start studying the weather to plan the weekend. It seems that an arctic flow is behind the Alps ready to fuel a violent storm on the Mediterranean Sea at the weekend. For the period 8-12 it seems that Europe will be hit by a hard wave of frost that should also affect Italy. We will see.
