Do you auto claim reward?

How do you claim your reward? Manual or auto? I believe many would prefer automation rather than manual claim. I however, decided to take things into my own hand, leaving the auto claim behind for two reasons. They are, one to reduce transaction records over the Blockchain, simply said cost cutting. Having said, if I leave the auto redeem working for me, which means the all the auto voted curation reward from last week will be recording claim reward every 15 minutes. On the other hand, steemitwallet from previous already streamed line the transaction record to limit certain days or number of transaction. If I have too much spam in the wallet, then I will have trouble to read my recent transaction when the new ones bury the old. I know I can still use tools to search for my transaction, but I rather keep things simple, like I just wanted to look at my incoming fund once a day, and I wanna see it all in one page.

This is exactly what I'm referring to. It's like every hour there's 1 or 2 transaction of claim reward, which it bring very little to no value to my crypto financial status. Having said that, if you're a whale who has million SP, that's an entirely different story. Because the curation reward could have been worth more than 100sp every hour? Which ultimately contribute to your whale vote value. I've got this butt aching issue since 2 days ago when the auto claim reward suddenly kicked started and the claim reward transaction suddenly flooded my wallet.

So, in order to check on your user authority, you can refer to https://steemd.com/@username and you'll see a list of authorized user to have access to your keys. Some of these dapps could have improved their services by providing auto claim reward service. Other than managing auto claim reward, you may also want to do some housekeeping from time to time to avoid your key being stored at too many different dapps and some of them could be legacy apps which no longer active in the #steem #blockchain. So, best is revoke some of your authority from here. The above screenshot were captured after I've removed a whole bunch of legacy apps.

How do I remove the authority? I tried to use steemconnect website, but I just couldn't find the useful icon to click on in order to remove. Trust me, I've been browsing around trying to find for ways to revoke authorized app for hours, and in the end I had to resort to the old way by using URL command to revoke the authority. I will put the link below for your perusal. However, if you know of an easier way, kindly leave me a comment below, I'd be more than happy to learn one more new way to manage my future apps authority.

https://beta.steemconnect.com/revoke/appnamehere

Put that the above link to your browser, change the app name and proceed.

Once all that being done, and now several hours later, the reward stays there unclaimed. Which means one of those app that I have removed authority are doing the auto claim on my behalf without me knowing it. I can slowly add those app back into my authorized list. You can do this kind of troubleshooting too if you're facing similar issues.

I guess that's about what I wanted to share. Now if you don't mind I need to excuse myself, go and add those apps back one by one to find out which is the culprit that had been claiming my reward automatically. Trust me, I did my due diligence before I remove those apps. My steemauto remain disabled. And I did reenable it and redidsbled it again, and the auto claim still happened. So, I will have to add them back one by one now to see which app that I added and auto claim become active again.

I do it manually. I do not see the need to do it automatically and I claim with Partiko.
I like to know what I earn each week (since #hadil2020) and before it was once a month. It costs SP too.

LOL, I commented before reading the post.

I set it up because I'm forced offline every once in a while for work and figured this was easy.

I've joined a few curation trails so there is always some dust to pick up daily even if I'm not online and am on the edges of civilization.

No judgement buddy. No right or wrong, but regular house keeping of the apps authority need to be up to date to avoid situations like mine happen. 🙂 !tip !shop
