I live in the Crimea capital - Simferopol city.
It has been established in 1784 and since then it had a heraldic coat of arms with honeycombs and bees.

Nice, heh? and so Hivish )))

So, honey bees are the symbol of our city.

But in 2018 one city company has gifted to the city and its habitats 20 bronze small honeybee statues. Now, after 3 years there are around 100 honey bee cuties on our street. They are really small - no more than 8 inches tall, but they have a lot of charm and optimism.

Practically everyone can order his own honeybee and install it on his business entrance, on a roof or in a front yard.

They are all different and unique and all of them have their own sense.
Like, this icecream woman in the kids park:

I visited Simferopol back in 2005, such a beautiful and green city full of parks and I really loved the subways full of flower sellers! Sadly a long time before your cute bees appeared!
Best wishes :-)

Just wanted to tour Crimea and see the history so I based myself in Simferopol 'cos it was easiest to fly there and took buses to Yalta, Yevpatoria, Alushta and Sevastopol. I stayed a couple of weeks. Great trip :-)

One summer I took a trolleybus from Simferopol to Yalta, even though I lived in Feodosia. It was the longest trolleybus line in the Soviet Union (even in Europe), so I wanted to see if it was true or not. It turned out that yes, there is such a line of passengers from the Crimean capital of Simferopol to the resort city of Yalta. And now there is this trolleybus route?
//
