Kevin Holland vs Daniel Rodriguez - UFC 279

UFC 279 features one of my favorite fighters overall, Kevin Holland. Dude is one of a kind. He fights at both Welterweight (170 pounds) and Middleweight (185 pounds). He has fifteen fights in the UFC and he's only been with the company since August of 2018. Just a bit over four years time. Just incredible. In those fights he is 10-4-1, including five wins in a row that took place in 2020. I'll never forget how he viciously took out a legend like Ronaldo Souza. What a legendary year for Holland.
In addition to Holland's octagon skills, Holland has become a fan favorite simply by being a goofball, and a hero? This guy is a living meme at this point. Legend!
This Saturday, Kevin faces an interesting prospect in Daniel Rodriguez. Rodriguez sort of got into fighting a bit later in life, but that hasn't stopped him from taking advantage of his potential. At 35 years old Rodriguez enters this fight with an 16-2 professional record. Rodriguez's first fight with the UFC happened on February 15th, 2020 and he immediately impressed with a win over veteran Tim Means by guillotine choke in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Rodriguez is 6-1 in the UFC.
Rodriguez is an interesting dude, has a gang related, criminal past. I only bring this up because well, it's not like he doesn't talk about it. I think it makes him more interesting, and likely a tougher fighter. Seems like the dude is pretty likeable.
This fight is gonna be pretty legendary I believe. I just think this fight might really age well.
Both fighters are known to prefer striking, and just trading shots. Neither has ever been knocked out....
This fight is basically a flip of a coin to try and predict. I think I'll take the new guy, Daniel Rodriguez. I just don't see quit in that guy.
I've put my dough on Holland, just because I like the guy haha. D-Rod has a chance though, I ain't gonna lie, as you say, 50/50!
