Elon Musk to attack YouTube with TV service on X
X, the everything app
Elon Musk has officially announced that in the near future it will be able to watch video’s and live streaming like it is possible now on YouTube.
This is the next step in the creation of the “everything” app, Elon Musk X wants to become.
Chatting, video’s, gaming, news broadcasting,… you name it, X will have it.
Available on smart TV
Musk also revealed that it will be available on smart TV’s very soon. It will make it possible to watch video’s from your X account and even cast them from your smartphone or tablet. By this move X is taking Amazon in speed.
More advertising income
This move by Musk will make it possible for X to reel in more advertising income. Which is necessary after a lot of advertisers turned their back on X because of the lack of censorship.
The big question is, will advertisers return as the video platform of X will also be free of censorship. At least that’s what is expected and would be the straight line that Elon Musk is following.
YouTube killer?
Will this be the YouTube killer? I don’t think so, but it will definitely attract lots of content creators that were cancelled and demonetised by YouTube. These will be very welcome to the platform and will be able to monetise their content once again.
In my opinion, it is a very good move by Musk and it will be very popular for the anti-woke community which is growing rapidly. I am very curious to see the final “product”!

Just a couple of days ago some one shared a screen shot of X announcing they are temporarily stopping advertiser revenue sharing so X is having some serious issues right now and they have not even considered competing with tiktok so I doubt they can challenge YouTube for the title of the best video hosting platform really and let us not forget twitch which dominates live streaming in the US.
I would say, don’t underestimate Elon Musk, give it a few years and the right wing evolution of society

I never have underestimated Elon Musk but his X sides of thing has been a disaster since he took over as CEO of the company. He named the famous name of Twitter to X which looks like a porn domain now and then he is always making huge changes to how twitter used to work like adding in advertiser revenue sharing and then pausing this advertiser revenue sharing for many accounts then on a whole as well. He some times says that Mr.Beast will become new X ceo, I mean he is all over the place and that is why smaller companies like Mastodon and Bluesky for a smaller extent has taken a lot of users from X to their platforms some how. Elon Musk will remain the no 1 billionaire in 2024 some how but I donot think he knows how to run a social media website.
Already many sporting events are being streamed here and noticed our service provider is around 5 minutes behind on live football matches so I tend to watch live streams on X now.
I think more advertising revenue for X will attract more creators into their platform. Over time, it could definitely take away some of the relevance of YouTube and other established platforms, especially when the direction is to build an everything app.
No one has been able to compete with YouTube so far but this man is very wise now let's see what happens in the future.
